# Install the Reconnect Client on Windows — Setup Guide

> Download and set up the Reconnect Windows client on your PC. Runs in the background and keeps your Roblox accounts online automatically.

The Reconnect Windows client runs quietly in your system tray and keeps your Roblox accounts active around the clock. Setup takes only a few minutes — download the installer, enter your license key, and your device is live in the dashboard.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm your system meets the following requirements:

* **Windows 10 or 11** (64-bit)
* A valid **Reconnect license key**

## Installation

    Go to your Reconnect dashboard and download the Windows installer directly:

  <Step title="Run the executable">
    Open the downloaded file (`reconnect-windows.exe`) to start installation.

    Windows Defender may display a **SmartScreen** warning. If it does, click **More info** → **Run anyway** to proceed.

    <Note>
      The executable is currently unsigned during the beta period. The SmartScreen warning is expected and the file is safe to run. This will be resolved in a future release.

  <Step title="Enter your license key">
    On first launch, the client prompts you to enter your license key. Enter it exactly as provided — this binds the client to your device's hardware ID (HWID).

      Your device should appear as **Online** in the **Devices** tab of your dashboard within 10–15 seconds.

## Running in the Background

Once launched, the Reconnect client minimizes to your system tray so it stays out of your way. Right-click the tray icon to access controls, including the option to **Start with Windows** — enable this to have the client launch automatically whenever your PC boots.

## Updating the Client

When a new version is available, the client notifies you directly. To update, re-download the installer from your dashboard at [app.reconnect-tool.com/downloads/windows](https://app.reconnect-tool.com/downloads/windows) and run it. Your license key and all settings are preserved automatically.
